After a predictably popular - and practically packed-out - send-off for March's Magma magazine, poetry-people-in-the-know will be aiming, post-summer-solstice, for Earls Court and the Jun edition of this essential journal, edited, this time, by Tim Kindberg and Rosie Shepperd, for the chance to catch the new-minted Magma 44, meet the editors and Magma committee, hear about upcoming themes and issues, and enjoy an invariably eclectic list of contributors with - as ever - two leading poets guesting at the gig:
- Imtiaz Dharker, born in Pakistan and raised in Glasgow, artist, documentary film-maker and poet ("The Terrorist at my Table", Blooodaxe, 2006);
- and Exeter-based former Arvon chairman, Lawrence Sail, whose 4th Bloodaxe collection is "Eye-Baby", (2006).
